FUTURE BREAKS FM
The Playas

*Miss E* [e@radiov.com] (Emily Griffin) came to San Francisco to earn her degree in electronic media communications at USF. She immediately pursued her interest in radio at KUSF, where she became an after-hours DJ, charming latenight freaks with her groovy beats. Her passion for jungle music began with her discovery of Adam F's jazzy cut "Circles" in the summer of '96. This evolution in her listening showed her the future that was right before her eyes. Throughout 1997 Miss E showcased many local DJs on the radio, which lead to the creation of the Thursday night weekly club "Eklektic". Miss E also contributes to XLR8R and is currently working with the digital multimedia group Verbum, Inc. to launch Radio-V , an Internet radio and digital TV channel for techno music that will be syndicated throughout the nation.

*DJ PUSH* [thedjpush@hotmail.com] (Ethan Jenkins), a San Francisco resident for 5 years, came through with the XLR8R magazine posse from Seattle. Working closely with the magazine as assistant editor and in the underground dance scene as a DJ and promoter, he's always been on the tip of new sights and sounds. As jungle music began capturing the hearts of the Bay Area underground masses, Ethan stepped up in the spring of '97 with one of the original bi-weekly sessions, "STEP 2K". He now appears with other local mixmakers at Bug'n Out & the Terrorist Society sessions on a regular basis. Behind the decks, PUSH is a precise technitian who brings in a funk-twist to the hard beats and basslines to get any dancefloor set to lift off. Local heads now have Ethan to thank for the bomb selection of jungle records at Housewares on Haight Street.

*Arc Angel Gabe Real* [arcangeldj@yahoo.com](Gabriel Elash) has adventured around the country fueled by his passion for discovering dance music. His vinyl fetish is evident in his extensive collection of funky breaks, jungle and abstract hip hop. He followed his heart to San Francisco in 1995 where a host of vinyl treats awaited him. The drum 'n' bass frequency grabbed him with sounds from the Moving Shadow label and the atmospheric layered melodies + rhythms of LTJ Bukem. Gabe Real plays out often and is known around town for his funky, energetic, and soulful performances--and has teamed up with local mixmasters Mateo, No Battles & Buna as PBS, performing on multiple turntables with an array live musicians and vocalists. Gabe is currently working with various independent musicians and labels in compiling a CD that will showcase the best of the San Franicsco underground to share with the world.
